The Mind Grove TMS Center is a physician-led, TMS-focused psychiatric practice in Colorado Springs, founded by Megan Bowers, MD, PhD.
The practice centers on standard rTMS, iTBS, and Accelerated TMS within an integrative psychiatric care model. Dr. Bowers evaluates each patient individually, considering diagnosis, treatment history, safety factors, current symptoms, and the role TMS may play in the broader treatment plan.
TMS is central to the practice, but treatment planning is guided by clinical judgment. When augmentation with medication supports the patient’s care plan, Dr. Bowers may incorporate it alongside TMS-focused care.
Megan Bowers, MD, PhD, is the founder of The Mind Grove TMS Center. She is dual ABPN board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Bowers earned her MD and PhD from NYU School of Medicine, completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in Neurobiology at the University of Zurich, and completed her Adult Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital.
Her background spans developmental genetics, neurobiology, and clinical psychiatry. At The Mind Grove, that training informs a careful approach to evaluation, treatment planning, and clinical oversight.
Dr. Bowers brings medical training, psychiatric specialization, and research experience to her work with TMS. Her adult psychiatry background supports careful diagnostic evaluation and medication decision-making. Her child and adolescent psychiatry training supports clinically thoughtful care for adolescent patients ages 15 and older when TMS may be appropriate.
Her research background in developmental genetics and neurobiology also shapes how she approaches neuromodulation. Treatment decisions are not made by protocol alone. They are based on the patient’s clinical picture, treatment history, safety considerations, and current needs.
The Mind Grove offers standard rTMS, iTBS, and Accelerated TMS using MagVenture technology. iTBS is a form of rTMS that uses rapid theta-burst stimulation patterns, and most Accelerated TMS protocols use iTBS as a delivery method.
These protocols are an important part of the practice, but they are selected through clinical evaluation. Dr. Bowers considers which approach is appropriate for the individual patient and whether medication management should remain part of care.
This model allows The Mind Grove to stay focused on TMS while maintaining the clinical judgment of a physician-led psychiatric practice.
At The Mind Grove, treatment planning begins with a physician evaluation. Dr. Bowers considers the patient’s diagnosis, treatment history, safety profile, current symptoms, and prior response to care before recommending a treatment plan.
For some patients, TMS may be the primary focus. For others, medication management may continue alongside TMS when clinically appropriate. The recommendation depends on the patient’s needs, not on a fixed pathway.
